Very nice, went for the Super Blue eh? How old is your antifreeze?

QCRAZY 06-09-2001 12:03 PM

Where did you get the yellow oil dipstick?? Paint it yourself??

SteveAngry 06-09-2001 01:14 PM

Nice and clean! I also see that you...

don't use the engine cover. Did you get tired of all the heat soaked brittle parts under there?:)

Its the faded orange one..........

MikTip 06-09-2001 02:34 PM

Anti-friz is that orange DEX-COOL "Long-Life" stuff.

I have new tank ready to install, just waiting for the annual flush before installing new tank.

You know how they all dis-color over time.

It will be new and clean for winter!

The wires prevent the install of the covers. I do believe.......

all those cool looking plastic covers keep too much heat in?

I see the latest VW & Audi engines have smaller plastic covers, and they have more holes for air.

Hmmmmm.........

greendoh 06-09-2001 05:05 PM

I wonder if drilling a few holes would help allow the heat to dissipate

While maintaining the ultra cool 12v insignia on the engine cover.. ;o)

I didn't do Super Blue because I was afraid of the tank staining. Any comment on that?

I'd read a few things about the viscosity that had me a little concerned too. Since I don't hot rod hardly at all I decide to stay with the regular street DOT 4 (Pentosin Super DOT 4).

Any reason you picked the lifetime Delco over the lifetime VW-Red or lifetime Pentosin Blue? They are all good for two years aren't they? I think the Blue-Blue combo could have been striking.

As self elected color cordinator of engine fluid I like your Blue-Orange combo. I stayed with the classic Red-Yellow. ;-)

Re: Any comment on that?

So far the brake fluid tanks has not discolored with the ATE Super Blue. I have ATE Gold which I change out the blue when flushing to make sure all the old fluid is removed.

I choose the Delco several years back when it was the only thing available, and was easy for me to get. Been with it ever since. Supposedly good for 5 years, but......I need to flush mine because R&R'n the heads allowed some oil into the coolant.

Blue/Blue might be interesting! Where can I get the blue coolant?
