Ever wonder why your air filter never seems to get dirty?
 

Stupid thing.

So I decided to take the intake assembly apart tonight for fun... I pull the plastic portion off the top of the throttle body, and to my amusement, I find an oily mess #1, #2, I find where my engine has been getting its clean air... around the gap where the ovular gasket seats around the top of the TB. Cute. Needs replacement, obviously.

I always wondered why my old air filter, with 20k miles on it, looked brand new. Hmm.

Ahh... I remember reading about the phone wire fix... funny how phone wire fixes so much in my 90...

It took all of 10 seconds to do this fix... if you have over 20k on your TB gasket, DO THIS!

Believe it or not Home Depot sells a high temp rubber electrical tape that is phenom....
 

and does the trick perfectly. Little expensive but what a product.
