The one I'm using now is just busier, more complex and heavier than it need be. It weighs 1/4lb and is made of a triangulated aluminum tubing affair that bolts to alternator and engine block using a billet sensor clamp.

My new concept will be a sub-1/2 ounce CNC widget that'll bolt to the snub bracket below, be about 3/4" tall and allow simple fore/aft adjustment while the pickup clamp will allow left/right (closer/further from degree wheel) adjustments.

I removed the snub mount bracket from one of my spare 12V engines and its soaking in brake cleaner right now. I'll bead blast it in 20 minutes or so and have a shiney-new appearing one to do all the measuring/mounting to then simply switch brackets when the project is complete.

Red dot is on inductive pickup tho pickup will be located maybe 1" higher than the pickup in pic which is just leaning against degree wheel.

Default Hitachi isnt stand-alone engine management and cant work with 60-2 triggering

Hitachi operates off the "odd-fire" triggering which is why it cannot be chipped or have its timing altered via ECU. Bosch operates off of 60-2 and can be chipped.

Odd-fire triggering is limited to our Audis, some GM cars and Maxima. It dictates stand-alone to replace the ECU as there's no piggy-back system that will work around odd-fire triggering for timing control. They become "fuel only" control systems.
