Hey Nate! 235/40 17's backspacing? I have et40, wondering if they'll clear...

how wide is the wheel? with 17's you can have a very wide range of specs and still clear..
 

18's is where you start to run into constraints

17x7.5 et40, on a B3

Nate ran em without problems, just need to know what his wheel backspacing and width was

Nate @ 034 also ran heavier springs on his adj. coil-overs, which helps limit rubbing ;-)
 

Also, not all tires are created equal. Just because they say two tires are 235's doesn't mean that they are the same width. I have had two sets of 225/50-16's (Dunlop and Yokohama) that are wider than a set of 235's on a certain member's 2.5L CQ...

So, you need to look up the actual tire width when mounted, TireRack has a great database.
