The car is '94 Coupe 2.8 FWD. I bought the car used and immediately replaced the front shocks. I bought SACHS shock absorbers which are meant for stock springs. After replacing them I didn't notice any real improvement so I asked advice from a second mechanic. I found out that the car had some sort of lowered springs and that the shocks are no good for these springs. Now, I need advice on how to choose the right shocks for the springs I have. Would I have to buy a complete kit (shock+spring)? I wouldn't want to replace the lowered springs with stock height springs. Thanks in advance!

Bilstein makes a damper for lowering springs, if I am not mistaken...Not sure which one it is?

What about for a firmer shock since i want to keep the stock springs!!!
