I have been doing some reading online and it seems that the 1.8T has an oil pump issue.

Found a junkyard engine for 1850 plus 450 for turbo and 125 shipping, incase the engine is trash.

I'll be tearing into it this week sometime.

First check for oil pressure. If anything buy an oil pressue tester.....
 

and do this check FIRST. Second is check your oil filter. Take it out, drain it and cut it in half.
What do you see? Third, take the oil pump itself out and check it for large debris in it or a sheared gear. Good luck.
