infrared key fob

now this is a strange one. Just got my car back, the "point and shoot" was working before taking it in and now it does not.
I can see the red light and since I just replaced the batteries a year ago I can't see 4 dying already.
OK, so world impex shows the PN and its 10 bucks? That seems a bit cheap for the entire key fob with infrared portion, maybe just a simple blank, yeah.

IMPEX SKU # 93407

GENUINE PART
KEY BLANK
KEY BLANK

(OEM part number: 443-837-220)

the PN off the side is 443 837 220D

Rather curious if they have updated it to maybe an F

If it died now I have 2 that do not work.
I have about 4 sets of keys now with all the extra's.

The recent one that died is actually made by Hella.

Have you tried reprogramming the key? They typically run $160-200 depending on where you look.

that much?

geesh, no way I am going to pay that much just for the small luxury of point and shoot.
I have not gone as far as the reprogram, I tried the syncro first as the car did sit for a few days but no luck there.
I am sure they disconnected the battery to work on the fuel pump but that should not have much to do with the key working.
I've disconnected my battery without any issues with the key later on.
I know the oldest key I had the button does not work and it has always been dead but this 2nd one has been working for 5 years or so.
I had to read up on how to do the reprogramming, I can give it a shot.
If you can see a red light flash then the batteries are not shot.
just strange, it all worked before the car died and now the car is fixed it won't work.

yep, I tried that

I have no idea what the lifespan is on these things but when I bought the car I was given 2, the guy noted 1 no longer functions but the other did.
The one that burned out was original so it lasted less then 9 years.
not sure how old this one is but it might be around the same.
I just don't get how the PN shows up on worldimpex as blank at 10 bucks, something has to be wrong but I put in the exact PN.

guess it was just a coincidence that the key died the same time my fuel pump did.

oh yeah, had the batteries checked and they are all good so I can rule that out too
