my battery went dead, and my dad put the jumper cables on the wrong terminal........need help....

I got the car started fine, but now every time I turn on the car, the antilock brakes are off. the switch in the dash doesnt do anything and isnt lit up even. I pressed it a million times and it wont do anything. I even did some brake tests to see if the light is telling the truth, but sure enough, it has no ABS.

what have I done? is it just the brake sensor?
am kind of pissed at my dad right now. but in his defence, both terminals on his expidition had a red wire. just on the positive terminal it had 2 red wires and on the negitive it was only 1.

please help

so have u tried locking rear diff switch?

cause when u turn it on it turns the abs off, but when u turn it off, it should turn on the abs:-)

Have you checked the fuse panel, and relay panels for problems?

Likely you popped a fuse...

I vote for fuse as well...

That's what they are there for!

If you're really lucky, it's a fuse

But I doubt it. My guess is the abs control module died. Reversing the supply voltage on semiconductors can cause them to fail without a lot of current flow. High current is necessary to blow the electrical fuses. It's a pretty common EE joke that the semiconductors fail fast enough to protect the fuse.

I, uh, know this guy...yeah, I know this guy who did that

It was only a fuse and it only cost me, I mean, uh, HIM, $75 to learn to pay more damned attention next time!
