New suspension.. How long does it take to settle?
H&R and Bilsteins sports.
Are those compressed coils (dead coil) supposed to be on the top or does it matter?
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/42826/dsc00440.jpg">
The fronts dropped to about 1.5 in.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/42826/dsc00438.jpg">
Rears dropped .5 only and still waiting for it to settle a little more.

Full view..not a very good take here but you can tell the fronts from the rears..

New shocks too? Depends on roads & driving conditions. ;O)
Could take a couple months?
Depends on how you drive, the roads, and what the suspension is subjected to?
However, your particular setup, probably wont settle very much at all? Maybe 1/4-1/2"?
Which is actually a good thing, because suspension travel, makes for a better ride quality, and gives the shock room to function. :O)

what about the dead coils/compressed coils, are they ok to be on the bottom? or should they be on top part?

Re: compressed coils
Are those your fronts? Any markings on the springs to indicate, top?
On my 90, they are at the top. But thats on my(non quattro) rear springs.
From what I've seen in the past, those are usually at the top on the fronts too.

Re: compressed coils
Not sure if it does meake a difference or not, but, I think the right way is as long as the part number or a model number on the spring is readable is not upside down...
