Default Ongoing trouble with the Engine Position/Timing Sensor.

Hi Everyone,
Has anyone else had any issues with the good ol' Engine/Ignition Position/Timing Sensor (The one next to the Engine Speed Sensor on the bell housing - Not the Hall sensor in the disy) on a 20V?

Over nearly 4 years of ownership, I'm on my 3rd Engine Position/Timing Sensor (the current one was brand new from the dealer and fitted around 6 months ago) and with each sensor the symptoms are slightly different. First it was a persistent warm start problem, then the odd hot start failure and now it's an occasional cold start problem.

Each time it fails to start it throws the 2112 ECU code. This weekend I unplugged the sensor at the firewall and measured the resistance of the actual sensor (around 1005 Ohms). I then plugged the sensor back in, unplugged the ECU and measured the resistance of the sensor as seen by the ECU. Again, pretty well bang on 1005 Ohms, so I'm confident that the wiring is OK.

Unfortunately, the sensor doesn't have any way to adjust the gap between it and the flywheel pin and so I'm stumped.

Does anyone have any ideas? Has anyone seen anything like this before?
