Default Picture Friday: Looking at weight distribution....

from 180°. Can both the Audi axle differentials be re-assembled with the diff flipped over (like the old Porsche RWD ones can) to run in the other direction in AWD? Picture: Audi V6 in an auto-cross car (probably RWD).

No I don't have any more photos, and yes probably that, or a Porsche unit perhaps.

That's not an auto-cross car, that's a sand rail/dune/buggy.

Autocross is the motorsport that involves driving around cones, on a paved surface, against the clock.

There are several transmissions that are set up correctly, or are able to have their diff/crown/pinion flipped. I would not trust a VW bug/bus transmission unless it was totally rebuilt. It may be a modified 012, or a Porsche box, or some other box built to handle the power. That is a COP 30v, so I'd bet it's pretty healthy to go with the ITB intake system.

the pond. Holland I think. Auto-cross (British term perhaps in this case?) is circuit racing on dirt over there. You say autocross, they say auto-slalom. See windmills and bucolic Dutch countryside:

Is COP a engine version designation like AAH?

no, COP is Coil On Plug, meaning no plug wires, since the coil packs are individual and installed directly on top of the spark plugs. That is a newer V6 as well, due to the valve covers at least. So it's probably a "3.2L" 30v, which is really a 3.1L.

BTW, I call these two cars autocross cars:

The V8q5spd was faster around the cones than the A4. Go figure, it has almost double the power and only weighs about 150lbs more.

The car you posted is what I'd call a rallycross buggy.
