use carb cleaner... don't let fluid sit in there... let it dry completely before re-installing

QuantumBlueShift 02-22-2005 02:16 PM

but is this safe or potnetially harmful?

i cant get the carb cleaner until i get the car running...

its a petroleum solvent...

|skolnick 02-22-2005 02:25 PM

I'd say use only carb cleaner

QuantumBlueShift 02-22-2005 02:32 PM

ok....THANK YOU!

QuantumBlueShift 02-22-2005 02:33 PM

btw... not to second guess you but

one of the posts i read from the past suggested that carb cleaner had the ability to melt plastic, whereas brake cleaner and/or TB cleaner did not.

food for thought

engine degreaser= not good idea>

you are usally supposed to wash it off with water, I think. Probably not a good idea. Just did mine with the brake cleaner today, and what a difference it makes!! :-)

probl;em solved.... thanx guys! used "snap" carb cleaner

(took my chances and drove my other broken down car to LAPS and made it.

True - and your ISV is metal where the carb cleaner should go.
