radiator coolant fan wiring question, which one goes where? 93 B4q
hey guys, it appears that i can't remember which wire goes where from the coolant fan to the resistor pack and where are the fans supposed to be grounded at?

Rad fan to resistor connections & ound point
Hi CR,
It looks like:
Plain large red to top resistor terminal;
Large red w/white stripe and small black to mid terminal; &
Bottom terminal empty.
The ground's fasten under a threaded screw which is about the width of your hand above the forward horn in the curved corner.
Hth.

CR..the red/green goes at the bottom..The red/white in the middle and the cluster..Red wire and Red/Black goes at the top.
The Brown grounds are on a 10mm head bolt fastened near the resistor panel on the inner body work.

Largo..should have one. Could be two or three terminals. Should be near the horns. Follow the red/black wires from your radiator fans..the wires should end at the resistor plate.
If not, where do your fan wires go on your car?

i think cabs and sedans are wired different when it comes to the cooling fan.
but either way, now im a bit lost as which way to wire up my :-S

2 of 3 resistor terminals used may be original from factory
CR,
Mine appears to match up with some factory schematics. RS is describing (save for one extra connection on the resistor's bottom terminal) the exact same hook-up and grounding point I mentioned. In any case, does it not just come down to whether you have 2 or 3 larger red wires to hook back up?

I see that some models had a two lug resistor plate rather than a three lug. Because this thing is flat..I'm not sure where it bolts up. Could be on a bracket on the driver's side front.
Your red/white and/or red/green will go on one lug..and the red wire and red/black radiator fan wires on the other lug. It probably won't make any difference which lugs..the internal resistor would work both ways..use an ohm meter to be sure.
