I don't believe the code programming is generated from the faceplate you might want to try the code for the second radio. There are places on the internet that can give you the code BUT you need the VIN from the original car that it came in from the factory . I have purchased radios for a 97 Cabriolet that is supposed to have a code required but do not , I don't know how that is accomplished but it is possible. I have found a lot of information on the web but you have to dig deep and use the radio model for information search

Default Radio Safe Code woe

Hi, I bought a 1996 Cabriolet whose radio now reads "Safe Mode" I am trying to find an easy way to get it up and running again for my sale ad published on CL today:

Is there an easy way to reset it or a link to find out if the WAUA88G4TA009264 is input somewhere online? Any help will be greatly appreciated, sir.
