So I applied 12v to the AC compressor clutch. I could see it move inwards but it didn't spin

Default So I applied 12v to the AC compressor clutch. I could see it move inwards but it didn't spin
does that mean it's dead?

So you seen the clutch move inwards while the car was running and it didnt spin? Did it stall the engine or make the belt squeel? Try turning the clutch plate manually with the car off if it rotate then you most likely has a bad clutch. if it doesnt rotate at all then you may need a compressor and clutch. (note if its just the clutch you can get a clutch kit and not have to drain the system).

Default It rotates by hand, it didn't spin with 12v and it didn't stall the car even though it moved inwards
just weak?

Default Its most likely the clutch
WorldPac lists a a/c clutch for cost 151.99 and retails at 713.99 clostest one Toronto
