Default So I put the Eibach Prokit on today... ugh

Well, I'm pretty happy with it so far (just drove it home since the install). I had the factory "sport" suspension which was already pretty low.. . now the front seems lower, but the rear doesn't seem much lower at all, maybe it just needs time to settle.

How much lower was the audi "sport" suspension than the "regular" suspension?

AND NOW I JUST READ THIS from 20v.org!!!!!

"** Beware that the Eibach springs are linear in the front and progressive in the rear. This is opposite from what you might expect, so be sure your installer knows which ones go one which end. "

STUPID LIFE! I put the progressive springs on the FRONT, like a "normal" car!!!

what effect does this have? would it have to do w/ why it didn't lower the rear that much(they are suppose to lower the car "1.4 all around from the "regular" stock set-up.).

I just installed these w/ the stock dampers for now (till I can afford the bilstein sports next month), so I'm going to switch the springs around when I get the bilsteins.

Answers please

I'd rather have linear springs at all four corners (oh wait, I DO! ). I think you'll be happier with the handling and such with the linears up front.

The 1BE package lowered the car 20mm and added stiffer dampers.

Springs do need to settle, but I'd still switch the correct springs on the correct end...

The springs are the same length, but the spring rate of the progressive is higher.

Yeah, I'm going to change it the right way as soon as I get those bilsteins!

Thanks for the info Eric!

Why would springs have to settle? Is that just for new springs, or for anytime the spring is taken off of the car?
