Default Swapping an Audi 80 2.0E dashboard for Audi 80 Quattro dashboard

Hello all,
I have an Audi 80 2.0E 1992. I want to swap my present dashboard for an Audi Quattro dashboard
(which I understand has on-board computer, ambient temperature indicator etc.) Has anyone performed a modification of this sort? And secondly was it successful?
I'm not sure if the wiring in my model is setup so that I can just plug the dash in??
Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated,
Thanks
Bob, London

...Checking to see what differences there are in the wiring harness' etc. between the cars on the link below.

Search for the relevant parts for your car and compare to the equivalent quattro dash.

It sounds like it could be quite an involved job depending on what *extra* instruments etc. you intend to install from it.

Take a look at the pic MikTip posted on this forum of his car with the dash removed some time ago. Go to http://home.ec.rr.com/miktip/dash1.jpg

Hiya,

Thanks for the follow-up! Mictip's dash looks quite off-putting. I just wanted to jazz up my car - and installing the on-board computer looked quite interesting. Did find out from Audi that the
part is £440 approx. Ambient temp indicator is about £35. Was thinking of adding the voltometer, coolent temp gauges as well (which you used to find on the left-models around 1992-93).

I think the job may be a little too involved for my meagre knowledge. May have to go to a place where they could modify the car for me...
(if you know of any that could be handy!).

You're car looks quite similar to mine. How may miles have you done in it?

Cheers,

Bob
