Timming/cam
Ok I got my p/p head back and i got my new 270 degree cam from autotech for my 1990 audi 80 4cyl. I was going thru my bently repair manual and to install the timming belt correctly i need to like the crankshaft pully with the intermediate shaft pully and the cam shaft pully with the top of the plastic cyl. head cover. I took the cyl head cover off years ago. i dont have it, nor do i remember where the top of it was. what do I do??? I dont want to be bending valves left and right! Also the 270 degree cam was that a good choice to go with? My head is ported and polished with a 3 angle valve job. thx guys.

Set the timing as written in the Bentley, but......
set it before you place the head onto the block.
Set the crank, intermediate shaft. Then set the
cam shaft in the head.
Now place the head on the engine. ;O)
Double check timing again, before turning engine over.

Find the valve cover? ;O)
You can still set the cam timing, by aligning the mark on the back of the pulley, to where its suppose to be. It will be close. Finding your valve cover, will allow you to confirm your placement of the camshaft. ;o)
