I finally got the engine back together after doing the head gaskets, and it actually started!! Thanks largely to all the advice from you all.

But, I think there is a problem. The engine sounds like a bad diesel engine. Any idea what could be the cause of that? I replaced the O2 sensors with the new univeral ones from blau...

Please help.

Did you tighten the exhaust manifold and all the other couplings?

Yes, everything is tight.

I just started it again, and I think it is just a lot of valve noise. It sounds like every valve is clicking. Is that normal after removing the heads?

Could be possible. Right now they don't have any oil on them.
