What is the factory Offset of the OEM wheels on the 90?
#2
May depend on how wide the rim is??...(more)
Assuming you have FWD...
Factory wheels are (according to Bentley):
6 x 15 - ET37
7 x 15 - ET37 (if AWD both are this size)
(Bentley doesn't state which "axle" (F/R) gets the narrower wheel).
If you found wheels with a ET32 that will push the wheels further "past" the fender than the factory wheels. If they are 6" & 7" wide wheels I would think they would fit (what's 5mm). However, if they are wider this could create a problem!!
In other words, it depends on the width of the wheels your looking at. Do you know their widths??

Re: What is the factory Offset of the OEM wheels on the 90?
it should sayt right on your wheels. there will be a code on them that will tell you rims size, width, offset, and something else....The first # is usually the width..
on my old audi it starts...
6Jx14....

they should fit. mine are the 10-spoke with 4x108 bolt pattern @ 15x7 with an offset of +37 (more)
I think only those flat looking wheels came in the 15 x 6 (see link for pic), but that wouldn't change the space for the wheel.
What wheels are they? Someone may already have them and could tell you if they fit or not. Also, tirerack has a good size selection, which would tell you which sizes fit the 90 or any car for that matter.<ul><li><a href="https://www.audiworld.com/model/historical/93/90.shtml">https://www.audiworld.com/model/historical/93/90.shtml</a</li></ul>

The picture in Bentley was for the "flat".....(longish)
....Aero wheels, so the 6" width could be for those wheels only!!
Also, I have to correct ONE little thing you said.

That's not correct. If you have a 6" wide wheel with a 37mm offset and you change to a 7" wide wheel (keeping the ET37). The total width of the wheel changes from 6" to 7". This 1" increase in width has to go somewhere. If the offset is kept the same the inch will be split equally between the outside and the inside of the wheel.
In other words, the 7" wide wheel will extend an additional 13mm (1/2") "past" the fender, as well as extend 13mm (1/2") CLOSER the the strut housing. If this makes a difference is going to depend on the car. Since the quattros came with the 7" wide wheel I would think this would fit.
However, with the wheels he is looking at the offset also changes. Assuming 6" wheel initally: this changes to 18mm (~11/16") "past" the fender and 8mm (~5/16") CLOSER to the sturt housing. This "could" cause a need for rolling the fender...doubt it though!!
Just to clarify. I'm sure this whole write-up is unnecessary since he'll probably write back and tell us he has a '95 with the 10 spokes (7" wide wheels).....BUT for future reference!! :-)
BTW: With both wheels being 7" wide and changing the offset from 37mm to 32mm returns...5mm (~3/16") "past" the fender and 5mm (~3/16") AWAY from the strut housing!! This would most likely fit!!

you're right....twice....but that's not what I meant....
right here:
he did say he has the same wheels as I do...
and right here:
the spacing/width of the wheel from 7" to 6" would change...
BUT, (and there's always a 'but')...I meant the wheel well space for the wheel wouldn't change, right? I'm just guessing here, but the Audis that came with the 6" wheels didn't have different body panels, wheel well liners, etc., etc. to change the wheel well space, right? thus, the space FOR the wheel wouldn't change -- is what i meant. I'm just curious...as I'm still learning about the 90 (3+ years and counting).

TireRack has a set of Borbet Type B wheels for $99 ea. that look like a great Audi upgrade...
They're 16x7.5", which 'miktip' has the 17" BBS RX Chromes, which I can only assume are also x7.5", so you should be fine with space.
Also, I'd go with the Dunlop SP 5000 Asymmetric tires. Especially, since they're rated at 340 AA A for an ultra-high performance AND all-season tire that is getting great ratings. For those wheels, tire size 205/55/16 is going for $97/tire.
Thus, for just under $800, you could have great new wheels and tires. I'm actually contemplating this setup, so if you do it, let me know because i'd like to see some pics of it.
Good Luck!<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_garage/WheelSearch.jsp?autoMake=Audi&autoModel=90+Sport&a utoYear=1995">http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_garage/WheelSearch.jsp?autoMake=Audi&autoModel=90+Sport&a utoYear=1995</a</li></ul>

i'm not sure, just guessing, but if fast928 is correct about the offsets, which i'm sure he is...
then would you be able to just get a spacer then? Anyone know if spacers come per mm, or only in certain sizes to get an offset of 45 back to 37???? Did you call TireRack? I would and pose these questions to them or over on the wheel/tire forum. Appartenly, Luke and Eddie are two of the most frequent TireRack people who are always on this website. Luke is usually in the S4 forum and Eddie in the wheel/tire forum.
Good luck!, and let us know what you find out and decide on.
