Audi A1 Style - Fuel Flap Not Opening
Hi
I have a 63 plate Audi A1 style edition and have been experiencing issues with the fuel flap/door staying locked so I cannot open it to fuel the car.
I have to stand there for a good 5-6 minutes locking and unlocking the car again until the lock on the flap releases.
I understand that there is a release pully in the boot of the car but not always practical when you have 10
people waiting at the petrol station behind you!
Any ideas on what it might be? Is it easily fixable? Will it cost a fortune or can it be done myself as a quick fix?
Any info will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

When I brought my second hand 63 A1 I had a similar problem and the 'barrel' that released and pushed the flap out had a kind of rip in on the end soft piece which would catch ,
( Id read the handbook so I already knew about the boot release and yes it was a pain but handy to know)
anyway as this was the day after I picked it up from the garage it was covered I think it cost them about £50/£60 for the new part .
