CLR_DIST greater than mileage?
Hi all!
This is a first time post for me so apologies if I break any unwritten forum rules!! I was hoping that someone more technical than me may be able to help out.
I've recently bought a 2012 1.4 TFSI A1 sport with stop / start. It's done 21,000miles and is in exceptional condition internally. Looks like a new set of tires have been added in the past and aftermarket reversing sensors added.
I did a quick check of the odc2 using a Maxicheck device which came up saying that the CLR_DIST was around 36,000 miles (one module was 36,003 and the other 36,187 - see screenshots).
Not really believing how the reported mileage on the dash could be lower than the last time the DTC was cleared, I bought a VCDS bundle to double check.
The VCDS has confirmed this however, see screenshot below. What's really weird is that the CLR_DIST is still higher than the actual distance travelled (58,000 km = 36059 miles which is greater than 34,456 km = 21,409 miles).
Does anyone know how this can be? Has the car been clocked by a previous owner or is this something that can be explained by the aftermarket reversing sensors or change in tires perhaps? Or maybe all audis come out the factory with 15,000 miles already done?!
Hope you can help!
