Enabling or retro-fitting NAV 2015 S1
Hi,
I'm about to take ownership of a 2015 S1
it has the Bose sound system option however NAV is not enabled.
I don't have the VIN yet but according to the local dealer enabling NAV is not possible, although when you press the 'NAV' button it says contact your Audi dealer to enable this feature (or something to that effect).
They went on to say something along the lines of: the car was optioned with the 'low-spec' system which only supports SD based NAV, and that only supports Europe, I need Australia/New Zealand. They explained if the car was optioned with the 'high-spec' system which is hard disk based then it would be possible.
I know there's S1s in New Zealand with the NAV system working (I've seen it in some of the cars I test drove). Is there anyone that can shed more light on this or someone I can contact, surely there must be a way to convert the 'system' to the 'high-spec' version, I'm more than willing to purchase any Audi OEM modules/systems required to enable the dealer to 'switch on the NAV feature'......
