Re: "Fly-by-wire",can anyone tell me
I just read that one new A3,has that, one electric motor that control the steering with Wires, not
mecanical pump, less mecanic spares more cables angle sensors, Audi said :it save 0.2liters fuel X 100kms,in average ,only uses energy when you move the steering weel. And is less heavy, etc.
Audi do not say what happens if there is a blakout
in the electric system.

I think chris may be asking about "fly-by-wire" throttle.
Its easy to tell visually if your car has fly-by-wire throttle on an A3 1.8T. If you have a cable running along the length of the inlet manifold (that rough silver bit right infront of the engine, and near to where the dipstick is) towards the throttle body - you've got the cable version. If not, its fly-by-wire.
