"Launch control"?

"Launch control"?
I've been trying to find some info regarding the use of the "launch control" method (i.e., left foot on brake, right on gas) on my 3.2 w/ DSG? I know the "official" launch control feature is disabled in U.S. A3s, but can I still use this method? I've seen it done on YouTube and have attempted it half-heartedly (but gave up when I perceived my brakes "breaking" at 2000 rpm.
If I can't use this method, which way would produce the best off-the-line acceleration: "manual mode" using the paddles (or letting it upshift) or just putting it in "S"? Thanks everyone!

It's not allowed on our cars in North America now, but it is available on the R32 DSG, IIRC.
And I think it was allowed on early TT DSG models in the US until Audi put the kibosh on it.

Its standard on all 07+ GTIs, most 06s will take the flash(mine did) and all MKV R32 have it.
The clutch pack warranty was dropped for 08, so to get a full warranty on DSG with LC, you have to get a 2006 or 2007 GTI.
Funny how Audi packaged the A3. The GTI has Xenons standard, Sport suspension standard, sport seats standard, and LC on their DSGs.
