Thinking about buying an 06 A3 2.0T 6-MT to tow behind my motorhome (i.e., toad; dinghy). The idea is to tow it 4-wheels down - no tow dolly, no trailer. Obviously this is at my risk.

I’d have to attach a baseplate to the frame in the front end to connect to the tow bar. None of the baseplate makers I can find have one ready-to-go for the A3.

It appears the A3 is based on the Golf body, and Roadmaster makes a baseplate for the Golf. I’m looking at some of the exploded diagrams of the front-end frame for both & the appear similar.

Anyone have experience with either of these vehicles?
