Default 2006 Door Lock Issues

When I first bought my 2006 Audi A3 2.0T, the rear passenger door had issues unlocking although once unlocked it would lock with no problem.

Now, the front passenger will not unlock or lock. It seems strange to me that the passenger side is experiencing these problems and not the driver's side.

I started to take apart the panel pieces in the trunk however decided to ask first where the central locking unit was placed so I can check that.

I have tried unhooking battery (this led to the front passenger door making some noise when locking, but then it stopped) -- strange symptom.

Any ideas to further test to see what problem is? Or where the hell the central lock pump is?

Thanks all,

AK

Each door has it's own electric lock. You'll probably have to replace them.

Is it electronic or controlled by a pneumatic pump located in the trunk?

As I stated above, electric.

i thought it is steam operated. they have plenty of steam coming out of the holes right under the front window.

So the actuator is also electronically controlled?

What would explain the actuator coming back to life for a while after I disconnected the battery?
