2009 A3 Transmission
Hello, I have a 2009 A3. In 2016 I took my A3 to the dealer because my car would roll 10 or 12 inches after being put in park. The AUDI dealer discovered the issue and replaced the transmission (no cost to me) at 82K miles. A few days ago I asked my the dealer to help me identify a noise that's obvious when driving at 50 to 60 MPH. The dealer informed me the transmission is source for the new noise. He said it was the "final gear". I asked if it was covered under warranty since it was only replaced about 32K miles ago. I was told the replacement transmission only had a 12K mile or 12 month warranty. Is this correct? Any suggestions or recommendations? My A3 currently has 114K miles.
Thanks,
Jim
Thanks,
Jim

Wow, it's amazing they gave you a new transmission at 82k miles. Maybe it was covered under that huge DSG recall.
If you kept any paperwork, I'd look for that as evidence. Many times the dealers are talking out of their ****, especially if you're requesting free warranty work. Dealers make no money on warranty work, so they're incentivized to focus on expensive out-of-warranty repair or $300 brake jobs.
