2009 Audi A3 8P1 brake light bulb specs
Hello.
Anyone can tell me what are the specs (wattage and anything else) for the brake light bulb ?
The car is 2009 A3 8P1, the one with face-lift and the tail lights have thinner reverse light area, the previous model had larger reverse light area.
It was burn out and I cannot read the text on it. The mount is like the attached picture, it confuses me because what I find online now they all show a different mount.

Adrian, what country are you writing from?
The bulb you show is common, known as a wedge mount. That one is 3 watts, 5 watts is another common value used. They're typically used in marker lights etc. where lower output is needed. I have never seen anything like that in a brake light application. It would not have adequate output.

I looked at forum sponsor ECSTuning and it's most likely a P21W bulb, single filament. Very common. Americans also label them as #1156 or 7506.

I am from Romania, the car is made and bought from Germany.
It is kind of hard to take the tail light apart, otherwise maybe I can be more accurate, but ...
I got the error in dash board when I press the brake pedal, it says it is the left one, I took the inner lights assemble out of the red plastic and and while still connected I tested the turn signal, reverse, etc to identify the brake one.
Then I purchased one kind of randomly, the error went away but it looks a bit dimmer.
It is an automatic transmission, it probably estimates the car sits longer with the brake pedal pressed, maybe that is why bulb is different.
The attached picture is not mine, just showing the bulb mount shape.

You could be right about someone using an adapter and trying to fit an LED bulb.
