ABS activation during brake bleeding?--2010 A3
Hi all,
My first post to the group after joining. I recently bought a 2010 A3 and just love it. But it does have a very soft brake and it can't be normal. Pedal travel is excessive, and steady pressure (when car is on) will push the pedal almost to the floor. The brakes *do* stop the car well, but the above issues make it difficult to modulate braking. Brake is firm when car is off.
I've bled the brakes twice using a power bleeder, and today replaced the master cylinder. No change whatsoever. My question (I have to ask because I've not yet gotten a service manual): does the A3 need to have the ABS activated (via shop software, Tech 2, etc.) during bleeding?
best wishes,
David
