Can anybody recommend good A3 seat covers - yes I did say seat covers!
The A3 will be here soon (6weeks) and kayak season has just begun and I got thinking that I'd like to buy a set of good fitting seat covers to help protect my seats from my soggy **** during the car shuttles.
No fluffy tiger stripe please!

I forget which brands offer designs that allow for the side airbags (in the seat) to work,
but I'm sure folks here will pipe up, or you can search any forum with cars produced after '97/'98.

a bunch (technical term) of us tt owners have Wet Okole neoprene seat covers...
they would be perfect for you -- you can get them in a number of colors, and even with the audi rings! at least for the tt seats, they have openings for the side airbags, too.

Keep them out of the sun!
Wet Okole has a horrible reputation in the convertible community for two things:
1) Seats that fade FAST!! Like a month or two on some bright colors, your black will look grey soon too.
2) ****-poor customer service. i.e. it is your fault our product sucks, and did I mention no refunds of any kind?

my grey with black contrast still looks pretty good after 3 years...
and i haven't had any need for customer service (so it may be bad, but it hasn't mattered to me). the audi rings on it look pretty cool!

I have black with grey insets on the seat of my 2002 Chevy S10 beach pick up. Great for wet bathing suits, and they do not get hot in the sun. No fading after two years of use.

Are they easy to install/remove
I'd only plan on using them when I was kayaking or when I come back muddy from a mountain bike ride. It would be handy to have them easily removable.
Some of my farmer type friends in the UK have an over throw, like a garage might use, for those occasions when needed for the Range Rovers. However they weren't disposable and did look okay but not as a permanent fixture.
