Engine noise cold start
Hello all,
I am interested in a 2010 Audi A3 2.0T TFSI , but when checking the engine in idle, I noticed a ticking noise which I do not know if it is normal. What do you think? This is a link to a video of it:

Thanks!

Which ticking noise? The sewing machine tappatappatappa? Or that faint metallic sound in the background? The primary sewing machine sound is 100% normal for FSI engines, you're hearing the injectors firing. Difficult to say what any other noises you might be hearing though. Maybe a slightly squeaky serp belt?

Thank you for the replies.
Yes, I was referring to that sewing machine sound. After driving that noise disappeared. The car has around 120k miles and the serpentine belt was replaced at 50k. Other people on the web have posted similar problems and some say that a problem in the cam chain tensioner could be causing this sound, although I never had a car with this engine, so I don't know if this normal or not.
