Fitting lowering springs
 

Hi, I've just purchased some Eibach springs for my A3 and was wondering how the rear ones are fitted. Do the rear shocks need to be removed in order to remove the old springs?

If so, how would you gain access to the top of the shock? Do you have to remove both interior boot side panels? I need to know as I've just finished a false floor install for my amps!

mine too uses eibach springs
i fitted it in the store where i bought it. as far as i can tell it doesn't involve removing rear boot as it does not have to detach the shockbreakers (it's different in the front, where you have to release the shock breakers)

pay attention when reinstalling the front shocks, mine was too low it ripped the outer CV-boot. don't want to happen to your car

Hi mate, what do I need to look out for when reinstalling the front shocks? I'm having them fitted so would expect them to know what they're doing. Did your garage pay for the damage?

How much of a drop did you get all round, and was there more of a drop at the front? I assume you have a 1.8T?

just make sure the end of the shockbreaker doesn't touch the Boot Kit. luckily the warranty covers it so it doesn't cost me a penny.

yes, i have an 1.8T A3. just bought it 2 months ago. great car. i uses 18x8" ATP 5Razze with Dunlop SP800 225/40/18.

at first time i installed the rims, it left about 3 fingers in front and 4 fingers in back. after i installed the eibach springs, it dropped to 2 fingers front and 2 fingers back.
