Forgot to attach bonnet cable to latch, now cant open the bonnet
I had to replace a damaged "bonnet cable to latch" but after replacing the cable the bonnet still wouldn't close properly.
I removed the latch mechanism to see if it operated ok and sprayed it with WD40, but came to the conclusion that the latch was damaged.
So I refitted the latch and without thinking I shut the bonnet and was pleased to see the bonnet closed properly..... until I realised I hadn't fitted the cable back to the latch !
Without a cable in the latch, how am I going to open the bonnet ?

I've made some progress by following the instructions here...
https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/thread...t-open.367788/
It involves wedging some pieces of wood between the bonnet and the grill, so that the grill is forced downwards to create a 5 to 10mm gap.
You then have to drill holes in the plastic bonnet lift catch, because the catch covers two of the three bolts that secure the bonnet latch.
The bonnet can then be lifted up to give you access the plastic bonnet lift catch - but unfortunately I destroyed the plastic lift catch and don't know how to get around this, any ideas ?
Im not bothered about the mess I've made to the car, its a piece of **** (never buying Audi or VW again) and Im sick of fixing it all the time! I have to run it into the ground and need to get it through the mot which expires in 1 week
