I recently purchase a 2016 Audi A3 premium plus
I find the interior to be a little dark at night. Aside from the cup holder light, are there any guides on how to add factory foot well lights and other pieces of ambient lighting? Also the door courtesy lights?

Yes, there are. Check here and over at VWVortex, searching on interior lighting. No only can you replace bulbs with LED's, there are footwell lights you can install. I don't have time to track down links, but do your searching and you'll find them.
