Long term TPMS results? For those who've done the TPMS mod
how has it worked out in the long term? Any issues? After not noticing that my tire was low looking at doing either that or picking up one of the after market systems.

Re: Long term TPMS results? For those who've done the TPMS mod
I did it several months ago after driving an extend distance on a flat 30 day old tire. I'm used to driving on 60-75 series tires, when one of thoose goes flat you know it. It seems to me that there is not a lot of difference between a properly inflated 45 series tire and a flat one. I pulled over because the backend felt loose and found the flat tire.
Since the upgrade I've had two events where the TPMS light came on, I think I have a reasonable explanation for both events.
The first was during a spirited driving session following a tire rotation and pressure check, I did not reset the TPMS.
The second event occurred during almost record high temperatures, I actually got warning lights for TPMS, ASR and steering all at the same time.
It's my understanding that by nature these three systems interact and rely on each other for information. It's possible that I had uneven heating of tires due to the weather.
I'm glad I did it, but I also realize that Murphy (or one of his relatives) will find another way to wreck a tire such that the TPMS does not give me any benefit.
Two things about this upgrade that I've been meaning to send to Len:
1. I found a cable chase above and behind the instrument cluster that provides an out of the way path from the switch in the center console to the fuse box and central electronics control module
2. I also found part numbers for the repair wires that fit in the Fuse box.
