Lots of reasons why brakes squeak. Start with quality pads. The OEMs are junk and do squeak a lot more. I switch over to akebono pads and they've been great. Quiet and clean.
If you're not replacing the brakes pad soon, take them off, spray with brake cleaner to remove all the dust and put brake grease on all the places where the pad slides along the caliper. Just don't grease the surface where the pad contacts the rotor.
I've also had good experience with this in the past: This sort of turns into a tacky glue on the back of the brake pad so it sticks to the pistons.
