Default sunshade clip update...

I took my car in this morning at about 9:00a.m. The dealer set me up with a loaner; a red 2006 Jetta w/218 miles. No offense to Jetta owners, but I couldn't wait to get my A3 back.

Now, it's 5:00p.m., I'm getting edgy and want my 3 back. The last couple of times I got the sunshade fixed, the dealer called me around 2:00p.m...what's going on?

I called the service manager. He tells me that the replacement clip broke! This would be funny if it wasn't for the fact that Audi hasn't come up with a permenant fix for this problem. Anyway, they had to rob Peter to pay Paul and had my car washed and clean by the time I picked it up around 5:30p.m.

Default Yep; I got mine fixed 2 weeks ago and haven't closed it yet...

It took 5 DAYS to fix mine.

The dealership called me to tell me that my part had arrived (even sent me two notices in the mail), so I scheduled an appointment for the repair (I live about an hour from the dealership). They loaned me a Jetta for the afternoon, but 3 hours later, I got a call saying that the part they ordered was wrong (apparently there is a repair kit as well as a replacement bar/latch mechanism- they ordered the repair kit for mine, only to find that I needed the whole mechanism replaced, which is what I tried to tell them in the first place!).

My dealer also refused to do any VAG-COM coding (I wanted the windows up/down with door lock/unlock, but they said it would possibly defeat the "pinch protection", although they weren't willing to try to see if that was actually the case), so I was doubly disappointed.

Finally, they washed and vacuumed my car for me that afternoon, and broke a piece of trim on the driver's side rear door jamb in the process. Nobody told me about that; I just found the piece sitting on the rear seat while I was getting some paperwork. It was as if the person cleaning the car just found it, figured it was mine, and thought maybe I'd want it back. It took a little bit of comparison b/w the two rear doors to even locate where it broke off (a little triangular-shaped piece at the base of the window above the door latch). Triple bummer.

Anyway, I was able to get the Jetta for the week while they ordered the replacement latch frame, which turned out to be on national backorder. When I explained that I was gonna drive their Jetta until my car was fixed, they managed to find one "that another customer had ordered but never picked up", and I got my car back the next day...

They were, however, very insistent upon making sure that I knew that I would be called by Audi Customer Service to get a rating on my service experience. They also made sure that I knew that any rating under "Excellent Service" would be a failing score on their part...Hmmm

I'm not trying to sound like an a$$ or anything; the loaner Jetta was acceptable, although they could've tried the programming as sort of a "consolation prize" for going without my beloved A3 for a week

Default Please don't

Same feeling here, but then I think why should I refraint myself from using it?
If it's still within the first 12 months, then they will replace it for free. We need to let Audi know this is a permanent problem and they'd better come up with better solution. I suggested 3 things in the survey and hope they do listen to us:
1. make stronger sunshade latch
2. OS needs to open wider if not all the way back.
3. Cup holder cannot really hold 2 medium drinks

Thanks Mike. I have that one now but I think I also had it on the previous fixes.
