Thanx to 4 silver rings but need more help
 

Hi people
i got the dent outta my car thanxs to advice from 4 Silver Rings. Now the only thing left is the lock on the drivers door. 3 door 1.8 T Sport 2001 x reg, out of warranty. The sensor intermittantly says that the door is open. I have isolated the problem to the actual lock catch on the door. If i push the catch in on the passenger door then the sensor reacts normally and says that the door is closed but on the drivers door, sometimes it registers and sometimes not. Any ideas? Otherwise how do i get access to the lock? do i need to take the door panel off? if so how?

Sorry my friend, I don't know nada about that one. I would suggest you taking it to Audi but you know that they are gonna quote you sum silly prices for just looking at it, let alone fixing it.

yeah i know. i noticed on another post about removing car seats that khufu had a manual on his homepage so i'll print that off and give it a go. i have been looking for something like that for ages. check it out.

Hello Shao,

In reference to your problem of the door sensor indicating door open when its firmly closed.

Did you ever find a cure? I have a 52 A3 3 door and the same problem. The door indicates driver door is open, and after repetedly closing it a few times flicks off to display the 'OK' signal.
