XM Activation Instructions?

Just installed an XM tuner and the XM preview works. Read somewhere on the forum that the activation code for a free 3 month preview was OEM001AUD. Would like to try it. Anybody tell me how to enter that activation code? Found nothing in searching this forum or manual on how to enter the code. (I have a Mac and the XM website apparently is not compatible with Mac browers because I keep getting that message when I try to enter the activation instructions page)

Re: I think you have to call XM and give them the code along with your reciever code number...that's

what my sales person did when I purchased my A3

Why don't you just call 1-800-XM-RADIO?

Tell them you've got a new Audi and you understand that you get a free 3-month trial. They'll need the code of the XM receiver also.

Yes, why didn't I think of that.

It worked. Thanks.

Not compatiable with Mac, another example of why XM is dead man walking

Moot point now, but I'm guessing you were not allowing cookies and/or you were using Safari.

So while maybe it is stupid that XM does not support Safari, that is not to say that XM does not support Macs.

The XMRadio website says you should use IE OR Netscape (or AOL), and that you must have cookies enabled.

I kept getting stupid messages from audiusa.com and edmunds.com and cars.com because I was blocking all cookies on IE, yet everything worked fine through Firefox on Suse Linux 10 -- where I was allowing cookies.

I was allowing cookies and did not work with Firefox, Safari or Netscape.

Wow. That is a pretty gross omission on XM's part. Linux Firefox & Konqueror also fail.

Re: XM Activation Instructions?

Call 1.800.XMRADiO give them your 8-digit readio ID located on channel 0 and then give them the promotional code you have.

Then go to channel 1, make sure you have signal, and wait a few minutes to get your XM. :)

Howard Johnson is right...

though when you call to activate and tell them you have a mac and could not activate online, they will acknowledge it is not mac compatible and give you the internet price for activation. At least they did for me.
