2017 S3 - Automatic Engine Start/Stop with Adaptive Cruise Control
Should this work - because it isn't on my car? The engine remains on when using adaptive cruise control and the vehicle comes to a stop.
Without adaptive cruise control engaged, engine start/stop does behave as expected.

2017 S3 might be different but my 2013 A8 behaves the same way. I think the start/stop doesn't work with the ACC. If I know I'm going to be stopped for a while I just put my foot on the brake and then pull the lever to resume when I start off again.

I found this passage in the Adaptive Cruise Control section of an older European A3/S3 manual:
So perhaps North American cars don't use engine start/stop with ACC on, and European ones do.
Further, it appears there are also regional differences in how the Adaptive Cruise Control itself operates - specifically the "Automatic Go" setting.
Again, the older European manual lists this:
Where-as, my car at least, if ACC brings the car to a complete stop for more than about 3 seconds, "Automatic Go" is disabled and I need to manually pull the lever back to re-engage.

Interesting. I might have to dig into the settings with VCDS and see if those things can be changed. I would love the car to use start/stop with acc and a longer automatic go would be good as well. I think i'll hit up some people on the EU forums and see if they can share their coding.
