Maybe I am misinformed but I swear somewhere I read that Audi only has an 8 point margin on the cars and unlike other makes doesn't have hold backs? Or maybe different Audis have different margins, all I know is I looked for an RS3 all over California and out of state and the best deal then was 3% no one was willing to go any higher. That said I know my affiliate program is an automatic 6% so I wouldn't find 12 points of margin a far stretch but the dealer would never give 12 points unless they had additional kickbacks.

margins were ~6% last year invoice to msrp - before the other stuff we incur. Dropped to 5-5.25% as of Jan 1 2019

Audi employee discount is 15% off on all A/S models. Anything above 10% discount on an A/S model is excellent. Anything above 6% on an RS model is excellent as they are giving up their front end profit for the back end potential profit.

1.9% APR /66 months with excellent credit on most A/S models.

Just as a point of clarification, employee pricing has it's own program, so 15% isn't a true 15% - the long and short of it is the dealer makes a fixed % from Audi just for that sale. So they encourage employee sales tbh, it's a good deal for all. Employee pricing also isn't in effect on every model (no RS cars, for the most part, for example unless the employee is a brand ambassador, which is not "common"). The deals also shift. For a while this year, RS cars didn't count towards monthly sales objectives. Then they did again. They switch stuff up all the time, sometimes even mid month. It's a lot to keep up with sometimes smh.

ETron's have a rate that low 1.9), which with the tax credit, is really strong....it's still an expensive model, but, comes with the territory. Most times, on most models, outside bank rates are better than AFS. But, it can change. Most on my program sheet now (which they updated a week and a half ago) are at 3.99, which, nationally, isn't really a horrible rate overall. More competitive with national banks than this time a year ago, and incentives have, for the most part, improved on most models. RS cars get their own rates from AFS, which are higher than the other vehicles. But, generally speaking, we can do better than AFS with outside local or national banks/credit unions.
