I don't know if anyone else notices (or cares) but I've noticed that sometimes album artwork will display and sometimes it gets a generic "pop" or "rock" genre pictures instead of the album artwork.

I've tried both with the MMI adapter for the iphone and with bluetooth and this happens via both connections. I thought if I used the adapter, it would pull the artwork from my phone but that is not happening. Where is it coming from then? Is it pulling from some database somewhere else? If so, is it possible to update it so it recognizes new music album art.

I've noticed albums that have been out for a while have no problem showing up, but new albums don't show up at all even if I have the artwork on my iPhone. Does anyone know the answer to this? Is it just a new A3 thing? Or does it affect other Audis?

I also have the same problem. It works when it wants too.

I've noticed the same when I stream Spotify over bluetooth from an iPhone. Sometimes it shows the proper album art and other times just the generic genre, but it's always consistent on the song. I think it's basically when the song hasn't been tagged with album art, then the MMI just picks up art based on the genre

If the album art is embedded into the mp3 file itself, then it'll show on the display otherwise it'll not. Here's an old article to help embed it into the file -
