yes I know the options to use an sd card and bluetooth yada yada. what I want to know is if I can get an ami cable to use with my android phone and get the features that I would get if I had an ijoke. probably not from what I have seen but hoping against hope.

I thought the A3 and S3 with the new MMI don't use AMI cables, just USB.
Also, why is it that some folks feel it's necessary to ridicule products they don't own?

Oh snap another reason im glad i got a 2015.
2016s dont have rear door sill trim, smaller paddles, or ami, which means NO video from your device

I own an ijoke. from 2008. its not different than a current one. thats why I went android.

android users are smart. its audi who cant figure this out. and I have no need for video. audi makes great cars but making people buy proprietary cables is stupid and even reviewers have said this.

Does the 2016 have the gen 2 MMI system since there is no AMI cable and just USB? If so, when you get carplay/android auto this will not be an issue.

Personally, I think the sound via BT is pretty good. Android or iPhone (own both and prefer android), the sound, sounds the same to me.
