Terry,
Thanks for the reply.
That's a lot of micro fiber towels for one go but I think you were wise to do what you did so there is no streaking and a perfectly even coat.
After thinking about how long it took you and reading about your sore arms and fingers I'm convinced that if I do decide to have a sealant applied I would have it done by a detail shop.
I'm getting too old and fragile to go through all the steps myself.
But, I would be able to keep the car up afterwards.
Just looked at your photos again: Man, the car really is looking great, ready for a Pebble Beach show if you lived in California.
Cheers,
Tom

Hey my long-term car & home theater pal.
Believe me when I say for you to have a professional detail shop to do that sort of thing is exactly 100% the way to go about it.
I did it and it didn't kick my butt but I can easily state it's not something one would wish IMO to do very frequently.
The RS3 does now look GREAT !!!
But that's after many thousands of dollars plus me doing my part.
Is it worth all that ???
Well, saying how I personally see it ..............
NOT, if it was a DD (Daily-Driver) in whatever weather conditions were happening while driving it.
Just way to much money IMO and also somewhat of a waste of a lot of time to do all the RS3 as if it were really a Show-Piece or like in my case a Guy-Toy.
As you know from visiting Cathy (Wife) and I multiple times over the years we also have her new VW Golf R sitting beside the new RS3.
Heck I just took it (Golf R) yesterday to my Cardiologist appointment as it was a forecast of 40% change of rain yesterday.
It's raining here already early this morning buddy so there is No-Way I'd jump in the RS3 and take it out for some little errand.
I don't regret having everything Detail Wise done but like I said above if I was going to be driving it everyday I'd just have a Detail-Shop apply the Consumer-CARPRO Ceramic coating.
Then use the CARPRO shampoo (Reset), plus Reload or CARPRO Quick-Detailer (Elixir) to maintain it afterwards.
Save thousands of dollars and not then be worried/concerned over when to actually drive it regardless of weather conditions.
I love mine and the way it looks now is so Bad-*** but it also places a person in the position to not want to take it out just any ole time and drive it.

Terry,
Good morning to my crazy car and home theater friend (a good kind of "crazy.")
Your above summary of likely best option for protection of a daily driver makes sense.
When my RS3 arrives (maybe this week) it will be my only car.
And, yes, it will be driven in sunshine, rain, thunderstorms, bug swarms...
So, I will not be spending gobs of money for protection.
Your suggestion to have a professional detail shop prep and apply the CarPro consumer coating makes perfect sense.
Even my old bones would then be able to keep the car looking good with the products you mentioned.
I will discuss the pros and cons with a local shop after I get the car.
Having the ceramic sealant would certainly make upkeep easier.
But, I would then give up being able to take the car to the local wash outfit.
Decisions, decisions...Hey, since it is about cars I;m okay with that.
Hoping you have many sunny, dry days in Franklin Terry so you can drive your machine frequently.
Cheers,
Tom

As you say one should think and consider all options.
And your right if you do elect to have a Detail-Shop apply any Ceramic Coating it's NOT smart then to use ANY Car-Wash-Facility as they ALL will slowly remove that Ceramic coating Protection.
I do hope you get that call this week to come pick-up your Nardo Gray RS3.

Federal Express dropped of something new to me yesterday afternoon for the RS3 ...
Guys,
I just received a Federal Express envelope yesterday afternoon and it contained something I have been waiting on for the RS3.
I don't really think I need to say much as you can see for yourself from the pictures below.
What I and perhaps others might wish to know is HOW does the Rear license-plate actually mounts on the RS3 ???
I LOVE the way Audi does their Rear-Mounting !!!
Well, if your one of those Audi World Members you might like seeing the below.

Hello,
I have actually now as of yesterday (Saturday 1-5-2019) placed my order for the 2019 RS3.
I did this with Audi Nashville part of the Sonic Group.
I have been waiting on the G/M (General Manager) to give me a confirmed call on my trade-in and he did that yesterday (Saturday).
I said yes and he (Robert Hartman) and one of his salesman (Trey Lee) drove over to my house and picked up my trade and also we (Officially) signed the Buyers-order.
I have previously owned several of the S4s which I loved years ago.
And some other older Audi cars many-many years ago I'm an older fellow.
From my understanding they (Audi) might be actually starting or already started production this month.
Given that's the correct information I was told my RS3 will be here between 90-120 days (March-April) once the order is placed this coming week.
In my case even though this might come across some as strange that time frame I don't really mind as it will give us time to further set aside more Cash for the purchase.
I have looked into the TTRS like 1 1/2 years ago but being an old "Muscle-Car-Guy" I decided to get my last Muscle-Car and it was a Challenger Hellcat.
Lots and lots of fun and I had it for 1-year and drove it a total of 2,148 miles so it was not worn-out that's for sure. LOL !!!
This time around since my wife (Cathy) has a new VW Golf R which she loves and of course I have put a lot of the miles on it as well.
I decided to step away from a Coupe as I want what I refer to as a User-Friendly, easy to see out of Sedan.
The RS3 is FAST, Nimble, Quattro, with all the Modern amenities so this time around I decided it was really the ONLY-Choice !!!
Below are pictures for those interested.
The Golf R is going to have what I would call, A-Big-Brother.

Robert Hartman G/M, Me & Trey Lee Sales.

New RS3 items just arrived in Mail-Box from San Antonio, Texas ...
Hello Audi Members,
Well here is the story on what just arrived VIA USPS for the RS3.
A long term Buddy/Friend Tom Cochran in San Antonio, Texas and I send one another Surprise-Gifts and we refer to them as "Secret Squirrel".
That has been going on for plus 10-years or so.
Anyway, neither of us knows what might arrive VIA Fed Exp, UPS or USPS and it could be something big or something really small.
You guys know me by now and I like showing what takes place not just using words on a computer screen.
I think many of you would agree pictures add so much to a story versus words only.
The New Audi Logo Caps are a HUGE improvement over the Stock gray caps.
The new Audi Logo Caps look to me what you would actually expect to be on the RS3 in my opinion.
Okay let's get to the meat of what just arrived below.
The Small Black-Box.
And here is what was in that small black box.
New Audi Logo Custom Valve-Stem-Caps.
Rear wheel with Stock Valve-Stem Gray-Cap.

Hey buddy,
I'm glad the Audi Logo stem caps arrived.
They may not be a "wow" modification but every little bit helps with these special cars.
Shall be interesting to see if anybody actually notices them.
Well, I'm off in an hour to visit Concours Auto Salon here in San Antonio.
Having SunTek CIR nano ceramic window tint installed.
I think the look of the car will be improved and in this high-temp summer heat they are virtually a must have.
Cheers,
Tom
