Audi A3 2.0T Quattro 2016 Fuel Cap Sticker
Hello,
When I purchased my 2016 A3 2.0T Quattro, I remember the dealer and the sticker inside the fuel cap saying it will take regular gas. I don't remember what the actual numbering was, but I am pretty sure it was for regular.
I've had an accident and the Audi authorized body shop fixed and replaced the fuel cap and now it says 95/premium gas on the sticker. They tell me the parts they order are linked to the VIN and the sticker is right, but I am pretty sure it is not.
The manual mentions both regular and premium numbering as it is for both A3 and S3 and refers you to the sticker for the correct requirement. Does anyone here have the same make/model year that can verify the numbering on the sticker with a picture or know how I can find out what it should be?
Thanks,
HoSsEiN

Not sure where you are in the world, but it's safe to say that all German cars in North America recommend premium (91-93) gas. Even my girlfriend's Tiguan says 91 on the sticker.
Regular wont kill it, but you'll get sub-par performance and fuel economy.

The replacement right now says only 95, but for the life of me I am not sure what the original numbering was! I've seen pictures on the web that as you mentioned have a range and I distinctly remember the dealer telling me if I get an A3 vs A4 I get the advantage of not having to do premium gas.

Thanks for the reply, I am in the US.

Also, considering it's the same EA888 engine as the VW Golf/Tiguan, which all have a 91 minimum rating, seems to check out.

OK... I just checked.
You see what is installed now and what it says in the manual... I remember seeing the 87 regular on the original sticker!
The manual is for A3/S3... I am thinking the 91 is for S3 and 87 for A3.
what I have now
From the car manual

I have yet to see an Audi vehicle that recommended regular fuel and not Premium. My 2006 Audi even says 91 or higher. I'm not buying the person's explanation about an A4 versus A3 in terms of the type of fuel required. To original poster, I realize you are not the one stating that.

Now I know I am not crazy... I knew regular was permitted, but as you mentioned it is recommended to use top tier fuel.
