Before I purchased my Rs3 from a specialist garage, I took a trip to Qatars main Audi delear to enquire about the RS3. I was greeted by the sales manager who showed me the last Rs3 in stock from the batch of 10 2018 models that were brought over. He explained that this was the last car and Audi Europe had halted all further Rs3 shipments as the sales of their rs4 and rs6 we're being affected by the RS3. He also explained that Audi were planning on releasing a 350hp detuned version in order to avoid the rs3 being able to compete performance wise with their more expensive models.

Now I'm not sure if this is BS or there is some truth in what he was saying? The fact I was unable to put an order in for a new RS3 in nardo grey with full options was surprising, nornally they would happily take ones money at the dealer.

Luckily I was able to purchased a 2017 nardo grey model with every additional option from an independent garage for a brilliant price. According to audi, I'm only 1 of 2 people who have this colour in the country.

You never know, but would be hard to imagine. HP is really all the RS3 has going for it over the lesser models and BMW and Mercedes aren't detuning. I've had the unfortunate experience multiple times where sales people will tell you whatever it takes to sell what makes them the most money vs. whatever is true.

Makes no sense... S3 is 300, if the RS3 is only 50hp more, they couldn't possibly justify the cost bump. I'd believe an S3 at 350 before I believe an RS.

At least for MY 2019 it loses a couple hp but that's only because there using a new standard in hp reading. Not because of a detune.

I believe you are correct. Remember reading this post and hearing rumor of 350hp for the new S3 refresh.
