Auto Tilt Passenger Mirror for Curb View
I have a 2015 S3 with MMI Navigation plus, Driver Assistance package, B&O sound.
Former BMW guy, can not get the pax side mirror to fold down when I shift into reverse while parallel parking.
There is something in the manual about setting the position while the parking brake is on, but its not working. Does this car have that function? Anyone have trouble?
Since buying the car I have been using the **** on the driver side door when I begin to park, but would be great if the process was automated.

Front passenger's exterior mirror tilt function*
To help you see the curb when backing into a parking space, the surface of the mirror tilts slightly. For this to happen, the **** must be in the position for the front passenger's exterior mirror .
"You can adjust the tilted mirror surface by turning the **** in the desired direction. When you move out of reverse and into another gear, the new mirror position is stored and assigned to the key you are using." [this implies to me that you should be in Reverse when setting this since since states "when you move OUT of reverse"]
The mirror goes back into its original position once you drive forward faster than 9 mph (15 km/h) or turn the ignition off .
I'll be interested in knowing what does make it work. :-)

I believe there is a setting accessed via the MMI to turn the feature on or off. Once enabled, the driver must have the mirror selector switch on the door panel set to the right or passenger side mirror, as stated above.

I turned it on in VDCS on my 2015 - it never worked right, I second the comment that it only works if you have folding mirrors.

That said with some other car companies even the base model will lower the right mirror when backing.

It works on my 2018 S3 Prestige (w/ auto-dimming heated folding mirrors). With the brake set, I put the car in reverse and adjusted the passenger mirror down (from the normal "drive" position). I leave the mirror control pointing at the pass mirror and it dips in reverse. It returns to normal view when I turn off ignition or go above ~9mph in drive (as stated in the manual).

To clarify this, after VDCS it DID work, the mirror tilted down, but rarely returned to the correct place, sometimes not even close, aiming at the sky etc.
