Default Can't connect iPod?

Hello,

Just picked up my new S3.

I'm trying to connect my 80gb iPod classic to the MMI system using the USB cable into the ports in the armrest but it won't work or register.

Is there something I should be doing or do I need a special cable?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I would say check your cable. I just got mine and i have an iPod classic connected to the armrest USB slot and it worked just fine.

Thanks,

The iPod is now showing the Audi logo screen but still won't play anything.

Can you tell me what you selected to get it to work?

Thanks

Have you pressed the toggle switch towards Media several times until it displays USB?

Yes, it just says unsupported even though the iPod does show the Audi interface screen?

It's a 5th gen iPod

Thanks

hmmm i honestly have no clue. I have the last-generation iPod classic and it works as advertised.

The 5th gen might be older? Also have you synced it with your computer and update the firmware of the iPod itself lately?

I’m having the same problem. My iPod connected fine during a test drive. But not in the A4 I just purchased. It is greyed out on the media selection screen and says Unsupported.

My thought too. Those of you working with you MMI, what firmware version are you running?

I wish that were the issue. My iPod is the most recent version (I bought it the day Apple announced they were discontinuing the product, figuring I should replace my old one before it was too late); it shows as being up to date when synced to iTunes. It integrates fine with another car; and when I attach it to the Audi, the iPod screen shows that it is running MMI. I wonder if the MMI system thinks it's an iPhone and is looking for the MMI app.

Try force rebooting the MMI while the phone is attached (?)
