Default Exterior Mirrors Manual Folding?

My mirrors (2015 S3) do not seem to want to fold manually. Is this normal? Unusual for other cars that I owned,

Manually, as in physically manipulating them with your hand, or manually as in you have to manually turn the switch to fold them as opposed to having them automatically fold on their own? Assuming your mirrors function like the '18 RS3 mirrors, you have to enable this auto folding feature in the MMI interface under vehicle options I believe.

Manually as in needing to push the whole exterior mirror case into a position closer to the window, resulting in a smaller car width. That is sometimes useful in a tight storage space and is common in many cars to my experience. What I do not know is the reason for not folding in my car. Is it lack of that function or excessive friction from dirt?

I don't believe my Canadian 2015 S3 could physically fold either. This is a 'feature' to electrically fold on the RS3, and not sure if it's included in the 2018 A3/S3's. I was a bit surprised, I think my wife's 2013 Civic will fold back.

Audi USA and Canada executives, those numb skulls, deciding how to package cars for sale in our part of the world think that power folding mirrors won't be appreciated here. Clearly, they're not in touch with the times. As parking spaces get narrower and tighter, there is more need for power folding mirrors. I cannot still believe Audi Canada even decided to delete this feature from my 2016 S5. An Audi S5 without power folding mirrors! I just shake my head in disbelief. The BMW 435iX that I test drove had power folding mirrors.

Just push harder, they are not that easy to fold if they are stuck at the deployed position for a long time. They are foldable since I have did that on a couple a3s

Only the Prestige trim level for the 2018 A3 and S3 have power folding mirrors. My S3 is the first car I have owned that has power folding mirrors but all the other cars I have owned over the past 10 - 15 years had manually folding mirrors (I think this may be a safety requirement in USA market)

Premium: manual mirror only (foldable)
premium +: standard manual mirror, optional power fold
Prestige: standard power fold
once push through the locking position, it is very easy to push in
